Hello. I'm Michael Tao.

I do research in fluid simulation and geometry processing and write code.


I am a Faculty Fellow/Assistant Professor at New York University working in Daniele Panozzo’s lab working in geometry processing and fluid simulation. My primary area of interest in improving the status quo of physically based simulation, particularly on how to resolve the complex boundary interactions that occur at a geometric level. An orthogonal interest of mine is to release open source reference implementations of my work as well as tools that others mind find useful!
